| Princess Sofia | We got this, Minimus! |
| Aunt Tilly | Lovely day for a ride, Sofia! Mind if I join you? |
| Princess Sofia | Aunt Tilly! |
| Aunt Tilly | Whoa! What's the rush? |
| Princess Sofia | We're racing, but that's okay. I'll get them next time. So how long are you staying? |
| Aunt Tilly | Oh, just long enough. Tell me, Sofia, have you finished the book I gave you? |
| Princess Sofia | I just finished Chapter Twelve. I never knew how many kings and queens there were in Enchancia. |
| Aunt Tilly | Oh, there's a lot of history in these walls. Wait till you get to Chapter Seventeen. That's my favorite. But you should keep reading, because knowledge is the key to everything. |
| Princess Sofia | "Chapter Seventeen, Behind the Walls." What's this? Whoa! |
| Clover | Hey! Whatcha doin', Sof? |
| Princess Sofia | Clover! I found this book inside my book! Did you know there are secret passageways in the castle? |
| Clover | Hello? How do you think I get in here? |
| Princess Sofia | Huh? |
| Clover | Ta-da! |
| Princess Sofia | Huh. [She opens the door just as her amulet turns blue.] Huh. My amulet's never turned blue before. I want to look around in there. |
| Clover | Too bad you're not rabbit-sized. |
| Princess Sofia | But I could be. My amulet gave me the power to shrink, remember? I wish to be small. |
| Clover | Are you sure you wanna poke around in there? Some of those passageways go all the way under the castle. |
| Princess Sofia | Sounds like fun. |
| Clover | Not as much fun as staying up here and taking a nap. |
| Princess Sofia | I'll be back soon. [She goes through the door to the passageway.] I wish to be big again. [Sofia makes her way through the corridor, her blue amulet leading the way, and stops at a river when a boat appears. She then hops on, and the boat takes her through settings that reference many different Disney Princess movies before stopping at a staircase.] Oh. [The amulet then lights up the staircase, which Sofia climbs, and finds a door at the end.] How do I get in without a key? [She tries to open the door to no avail.] How do I get in? Hmm. Maybe there's something in the book about it. [The book and the amulet glow, referencing that the book is the key. Sofia pictures it and decides to try.] Hmm. Knowledge is the key to everything. Uh. [She places the book in the lock, opening the door. Once Sofia gets the book back, she goes through the door.] Unh. [She then enters the Secret Library.] Wow! Look at all these books. Huh? Hmm. [She hops on the floating elevator, which takes her through all parts of the library.] Wow. Hmm? [The elevator takes her to the view of Enchancia, including its castle.] My castle? [The camera pans out to reveal that the Secret Library is inside a magical tree.] Wh...Where am I? |
| Aunt Tilly | The Secret Library. |
| Princess Sofia | Aunt Tilly? What are you doing here? How did you find this place? |
| Aunt Tilly | The same way as you, dear, although I did it 30 years ago. |
| Princess Sofia | You've been here before? |
| Aunt Tilly | Many times. But this is the visit I've been looking forward to the most. Now, come along, we've much to do. Much to do. We have to see if you have what it takes to be the next Storykeeper. |
| Princess Sofia | Storykeeper? |
| Aunt Tilly | See all those books on the walls? |
| Princess Sofia | Uh-huh. |
| Aunt Tilly | Well, most of them don't have endings yet. It's been my job to go out and find whoever the book is about and help them finish their story. And now, I'm hoping, that job will be yours. |
| Princess Sofia | Why me? |
| Aunt Tilly | The answer is right there around your neck, Sofia. The Amulet of Avalor led you here, just like it led me here when I wore it. |
| Princess Sofia | You wore the amulet? |
| Aunt Tilly | Yes, I did, when I was a young princess. The amulet is how I knew you could be the next Storykeeper. That and passing all my little tests. Which is why I gave you the key to the library. |
| Princess Sofia | Oh... |
| Aunt Tilly | You should really sit down now. |
| Princess Sofia | What's happening? |
| Aunt Tilly | Oh, this is exciting. The library is choosing your first story. Here it comes now. Well, what are you waiting for? Open it. |
| Princess Sofia | The Tale of Wildwing Valley. |
| Aunt Tilly | Mmm. Interesting. |
| Narrator | Once upon a pasture, there was a flying horse named Mazzimo, who lived with his family at a royal stable. Even though he served a kind and noble king, Mazzimo yearned to be wild. One night, a visiting horse told Mazzimo about Wildwing Valley, a magically hidden land where enchanted creatures roam free. Mazzimo knew he had to find this valley. So he said goodbye to his father, mother, and brother, who liked living at the castle and didn't understand why he was leaving. They were very sad to see him go. |
| Princess Sofia | That's Minimus! Mazzimo is his brother? |
| Aunt Tilly | The things you learn from books. |
| Narrator | Mazzimo flew off in search of Wildwing Valley. But on his way there, he was captured by the knights of Borrea. Mazzimo was taken to the castle of Prince Roderick, where he has been held against his will to this day. |
| Princess Sofia | That's awful. |
| Aunt Tilly | Unless you give the story a better ending. |
| Princess Sofia | I'm supposed to save Mazzimo? |
| Aunt Tilly | And help him find Wildwing Valley. |
| Princess Sofia | I'm not sure I can do this. |
| Aunt Tilly | I know. Being Storykeeper is not easy. But you can do it, Sofia, or you wouldn't be here. So the real question isn't "can you do it?" It's "will you do it?" |
| Princess Sofia | I will. |
| Aunt Tilly | Whiz bang! |
| Princess Sofia | But I don't even know where to start. |
| Aunt Tilly | You can start by putting on something more adventurous. |
| Princess Sofia | That's not what I meant. |
| Aunt Tilly | Mmm, how about this? I'll come with you this one time. |
| Princess Sofia | Thanks. |
| [Cut to Minimus eating straw outside Enchancia Castle.] | |
| Princess Sofia | Minimus! |
| Minimus | What's up, Sofia? |
| Princess Sofia | Come on. We're going to save your brother. |
| Minimus | Mazzimo's in trouble? Oh! Well, then we have to help him! What are we waiting for? Let's go! Wait, where are we going? And how did you know I have a brother? |
| Princess Sofia | I'll tell you on the way! |
| Aunt Tilly | Are you talking to your horse, Sofia? |
| Princess Sofia | Oh. The amulet gave me the power to talk to animals. |
| Aunt Tilly | I should've known. The amulet gave me all sorts of powers when I wore it. Oh, I guess I should introduce you to my horse, Athena. |
| Princess Sofia | Nice to meet you, Athena. |
| Aunt Tilly | Okay, then. Let's shake a horse feather! |
| Princess Sofia | Is Borrea far? |
| Aunt Tilly | It's only two kingdoms over, across the Strangeway Channel. |
| [They soon arrive at Borrea and its castle.] | |
| Aunt Tilly | That's one big stable. |
| Princess Sofia | Mazzimo's probably in there somewhere. Maybe I should search one end and you search the other. |
| Aunt Tilly | Good idea. |
| [Sofia and Tilly search the stables when a trapped horse kicks a door, which captures Sofia and Minimus' attention. The horse is revealed to be Mazzimo.] | |
| Minimus | Mazzimo? |
| Mazzimo | Minimus! Good to see you, bro! |
| Minimus | It's been so long... since you took off and left us for no reason! You didn't even send a postcard! |
| Princess Sofia | Uh, Minimus... |
| Mazzimo | Whoa! I had a reason. |
| Minimus | And then we come here to save you, and this is, like, the nicest stable ever. |
| Tempest | That's what we keep telling him, but does he listen? No. |
| Ellegra | We even have heated stalls. |
| Minimus | Heated stalls? The only way to heat my stall is to have a dragon set it on fire. |
| Mazzimo | Yeah, it's nice in here. But a cozy cage is still a cage. |
| Ellegra | It's not a cage! It's a royal stable. And you are lucky to be here. |
| Mazzimo | I'd rather be free. |
| Minimus | Here we go again. |
| Mazzimo | All right, Minimus, yeah, maybe you'd be living it up in here. You don't mind letting people ride around on your back. But that's not how I fly, bro. Mazzimo gotta roam. |
| Minimus | I really don't get you. |
| Mazzimo | I don't get you, either, but you're my brother, so I let it slide. |
| Princess Sofia | Guys? Maybe we can talk about this after we get out of here, okay? |
| Aunt Tilly | Ah, you found him! |
| Princess Sofia | Uh-huh, but the stall's locked. |
| Prince Roderick | Hello? Do I know you? |
| Princess Sofia | Uh, not yet. I'm Princess Sofia of Enchancia. And this is my Aunt Tilly. |
| Aunt Tilly | Good afternoon. |
| Prince Roderick | I didn't know we were expecting visitors today, Gavin. |
| Gavin | We weren't, sire. |
| Prince Roderick | Ah, well, guests are always welcome, although they usually knock first. I am Prince Roderick. You know, I was just about to take my horse for a spin, if you care to join me. He hasn't quite taken to me yet, but I'm sure he'll come around. |
| Mazzimo | No way I'm letting that guy ride me. |
| Princess Sofia | Um...Prince Roderick? That's why we're here. Mazzimo wants to be free. |
| Prince Roderick | Mazzimo? You mean, Thundercloud here? |
| Mazzimo | Can you believe that name? |
| Princess Sofia | Your knights captured him, but he doesn't want to be here. |
| Prince Roderick | Of course he does. This is the best stable in the world. |
| Aunt Tilly | That may be true, but he's not your horse. |
| Prince Roderick | I beg to differ. We found him flying loose in my kingdom three months ago. No rider, no markings. I believe the expression is "finders keepers." So there you have it. Now, how about we all go for a ride and have a jolly time? Gavin? |
| Gavin | Right, sire. |
| Princess Sofia | Mmm! Fly for it, Mazzimo! Go, go, go! |
| Aunt Tilly | Watch your step. [She trips Gavin up with her umbrella.] |
| Princess Sofia | Come on, Aunt Tilly! Let's go! |
| Prince Roderick | This won't do at all. I suppose we'll have to hunt them down and get my horse back. Right. Let's saddle up, Gavin. |
| Mazzimo | Whoo-hoo! Oh, I owe you guys big time! Hey, you wanna come to Wildwing Valley with me? It's just past those gorges. |
| Princess Sofia | Wherever we go, we'd better hurry, because they're chasing us! |
| Prince Roderick | A-hunting we will go, Gavin! |
| Aunt Tilly | We should probably try to get them off our trail. |
| Princess Sofia | Let's try to lose them in the gorges. Come on! |
| Mazzimo | Wow, you are faster than you used to be! You ever think about racing? |
| Minimus | Well, now that you mention it, you know, we've actually won a few races. Wait a second, I'm still angry at you! |
| Princess Sofia | Faster, Minimus! Go, go, go! Hyah! |
| Gavin | That's it, Tempest! Reel them in! |
| Prince Roderick | Gavin! Prepare the rope. |
| Princess Sofia | Aunt Tilly! They're catching up! |
| Aunt Tilly | No worries. I know just the thing to slow them down. [She activates her noise maker, causing confetti to go in the faces of Prince Roderick and Gavin, hindering their progress.] |
| Prince Roderick | Oh! Where did all this come from? |
| Gavin | So sorry, sir. |
| Prince Roderick | It's spoiling my suit! |
| Mazzimo | Minimus, I just don't understand why you're so angry. |
| Minimus | Of course you don't. Because finding this valley is all you care about. You know, when you took off, you didn't just leave the stable. You left Mom and Dad and me! |
| Princess Sofia | Look out! |
| Minimus | Whoa! [He stops before he crashes in a tree. As a result, Sofia falls off.] |
| Princess Sofia | Whoa! |
| Minimus | Sofia! |
| Aunt Tilly | Gotcha! |
| Princess Sofia | Your bag! |
| Aunt Tilly | Oh, hold on! |
| Minimus | You're lucky she's all right. |
| Mazzimo | Look, Minimus, there's something you should know. |
| Minimus | Mazzimo, look out! No! [He pushes Mazzimo out of the way, and he gets captured instead.] No! |
| Mazzimo | I'll get you loose! Ow! He's got my wing! |
| Prince Roderick | Excellent! Now they have to fly whichever way we pull. Let's land so we can secure them for the ride back. |
| Gavin | Shouldn't we let the runt go? |
| Prince Roderick | No, let's keep him. Teach that little princess a lesson. |
| Princess Sofia | The prince caught them! |
| Aunt Tilly | Then we'll just have to un-catch them. |
| Princess Sofia | How? The prince has a sword. All we have is...an umbrella. |
| Aunt Tilly | The umbrella can be mightier than the sword, Sofia. |
| Princess Sofia | We need your bag. I'm sure there are tons of things we can use in there. Let's land and look for it. |
| Aunt Tilly | Okey-dokey. |
| Princess Sofia | Let's spread out. I'll check over here. You check over there. Oh, where is it? Oh! [She trips on a rock.] Oh, I'm never going to find it! I can't do this. I can't do any of this. I'm no Storykeeper. [Her amulet glows and an arrow from Merida, who the amulet summoned, is shot at her direction.] |
| Merida | Have I got your attention? |
| Princess Sofia | Merida! |
| Merida | How can I help you, Sofia? |
| Princess Sofia | My friends are in great danger, but I don't know how you can help, unless you know where Tilly's bag is. |
| Merida | Oh, you don't need her bag of tricks. You're searching for the wrong thing in the wrong place. What you need can only be found within you. |
| Princes Sofia | What's that? |
| Merida | The belief that you can save them yourself. |
| Princess Sofia | That's just it. I'm still getting used to being a princess. How am I supposed to finish all those stories in the library if I can't even finish this one?
♪ Even though I've just begun |
| Merida | You can sing all you want about your doubts. We all have them, but you also have the power to wipe those doubts away. If you believe in yourself and what you can do, just stand tall, and your aim will always be true. You can save your friends, and you know it. So get on with it! |
| Princess Sofia | You're right, Merida. |
| Merida | Well, Sofia, what are you waiting for? |
| Princess Sofia | ♪ I may not know exactly how I'll do it |
| Minimus | I can't stand being tied up like this. |
| Mazzimo | Now you know how I feel every say I spend in a horse stall. That's why I had to leave home, and it was the toughest thing I've ever done, 'cause, you know, I love you. But I couldn't stay in a place where I felt all tied up all the time. You know what I mean? |
| Minimus | Yeah, Mazzimo, I...I do. I finally do. I'm sorry I was so angry at you. |
| Mazzimo | I'm sorry I got you all caught up in this. |
| Tempest | Oh! Do we have to take 'em back, Ellegra? |
| Ellegra | We are royal horses, Tempest. We have to do what the prince commands. |
| Prince Roderick | To the castle, Tempest! |
| Minimus | Whoa! |
| Athena | Uh, Sofia, I hate to be a stickler for details, but do you have any kind of a plan? |
| Princess Sofia | Let's hope the umbrella is mightier than the sword. Now fly me to Minimus. But be as quiet as you can. |
| Athena | Gotcha! Goin' into stealth mode. |
| Prince Roderick | I don't know about you, but this racing about has made me famished. I hope lunch is ready when we return. |
| Princess Sofia | Unh! Unh! |
| Minimus | Sofia? |
| Princess Sofia | Shh! Athena, go back and get Aunt Tilly. |
| Athena | Done and done! |
| Gavin | Prince Roderick! |
| Prince Roderick | Ah, Princess Sofia. You can have your horse back. I still have mine. Now fly along home before someone gets hurt. |
| Princess Sofia | En garde! |
| Prince Roderick | An umbrella? What do you expect to do with that? Wait for rain? You can't be serious. I'll chop that thing in half. |
| Princess Sofia | You won't get the chance. Hyah! Hyah! |
| Prince Roderick | What is she doing? |
| Princess Sofia | Tuck your wings, Minimus! |
| Minimus | Tucked and ready! |
| Prince Roderick | Whoa! Ouchee! |
| Gavin | Prince Roderick! |
| Mazzimo | Happy trails! |
| Prince Roderick | Gavin, come and fetch me. |
| Princess Sofia | I just need to get you untied. |
| Tempest | Take your time, Princess. We shoulda let you go in the first place. |
| Minimus | Here, Sofia. Let me. [He breaks the rope tying the horses together.] |
| Princess Sofia | All right, let's go back for Aunt Tilly. |
| Aunt Tilly | Sofia! Look what I found! |
| Princess Sofia | Your bag. |
| Mazzimo | Hey! It's the Glittering Gorge! That's the way to Wildwing Valley! |
| Princess Sofia | Then let's go. |
| Tempest | Hey, Mazzimo, do you mind if I come along? I think I've had enough of Prince Roderick. |
| Mazzimo | Sure thing, Tempest. |
| Prince Roderick | Where is Tempest going? |
| Ellegra | Ohh! Wait for me! |
| Roderick | Ellegra! What a thoroughly ungrateful horse. |
| Gavin | Guess we're walking, sire. |
| Princess Sofia | Uh, Mazzimo, that looks like a dead end up ahead. |
| Mazzimo | It's a hidden valley, remember? |
| Aunt Tilly | Sofia, why are we flying right toward that cliff? |
| Princess Sofia | Mazzimo says it's the way to the valley, and I believe him. |
| Aunt Tilly | Well, I guess one way or another, we're going to finish this story! |
| Minimus | I can't look! |
| [They go through the wall, which was revealed to not be a cliff, but the way to the hidden valley.] | |
| Princess Sofia | It was an illusion! You can open your eyes now, Minimus. You'll wanna see this. |
| Mazzimo | Wildwing Valley! I'm finally here! |
| Marchand | Welcome to the valley. I'm Marchand. |
| Mazzimo | Mazzimo. I've been lookin' for this place for a long time. Hey! Why don't you stay with me, Minimus? |
| Minimus | I know Mazzimo gotta roam, but Minimus gotta go home. I guess we're just horses of a different color, but you're still my brother, and I love you. |
| Mazzimo | I love you, too, bro. |
| Minimus | I'll come back and visit you sometime. |
| Mazzimo | You know where to find me. |
| Marchand | Time to hit the skies! |
| [The horses take off.] | |
| Princess Sofia | Bye, Mazzimo! |
| Aunt Tilly | Fly safe! |
| [Mazzimo follows the horses. Cut back to the Secret Library, where the first book goes back where it belongs.] | |
| Aunt Tilly | Congratulations, Sofia. You finished your first story. |
| Princess Sofia | So what's next? |
| Aunt Tilly | Why don't you have a seat and find out, Storykeeper? |
| [A scene of the exterior of the Secret Library is shown.] | |
