Ariel is a Disney Princess who first appeared in the 1989 animated movie The Little Mermaid. She appeared in the episode/special Sofia the First: The Floating Palace where she sees her new friend Sofia. Ariel also appears with her fellow Disney Princesses in the season finale Sofia the First: Forever Royal to give Sofia the strength to defeat Vor once and for all. Although Ariel has both a mermaid and a human form, she is only seen as her mermaid self when with Sofia in both her appearances. In the final episode, she was not turned into her human form when appearing to Sofia during her final confrontation with Vor. Ariel is also known in Disney lore as the only Disney Princess to become a mother via her sequel, The Little Mermaid II: Return to the Sea, with the birth of her daughter Melody.
Physical appearance
Ariel is a beautiful mermaid with an hourglass figure, fair skin, snub nose, red lips, red hair, and large, aqua-blue eyes. She wears a lavender seashell bikini top, and has a green tail.
Background
Ariel is summoned by her new friend Princess Sofia who is having trouble trying to prevent the storm from destroying the vessel. Ariel had the same problem when she rescued Prince Eric from a storm; also, Sofia had a problem trying to prevent the storm. She sings "The Love We Share" to her about not giving up on preventing negative things in a best friends duet.
