| Princess Sofia | You can come out now, Clover. I know it's you. |
| Clover | Well, what are you doing here anyway? |
| Princess Sofia | I told Amber I would pick a basket of blueberries for the Big Berry Banquet she's hosting tonight. |
| Clover | Well, why didn't you say so? Hey, Whatnaught! A little help? |
| Princess Sofia | Thanks, Whatnaught. You, too, Clover. |
| Princess Amber | A bit to the left. No, no. A bit to the right. Left. Right. Left again. Perfect. Now, Baileywick, I want the berries arranged by color and size. |
| Baileywick | Color and size. |
| Princess Sofia | Amber, I picked some blueberries for you. |
| Princess Amber | Oh, thank you, Sofia. Hmm. They're not quite perfect enough for the main buffet. Everything has to be perfect for my Berry Banquet. The entire school is coming, and I've got to top the Melon Ball Hildegard threw last month. |
| Prince James | I don't know, Amber. That was a pretty fun party. |
| Princess Amber | Mine will be even better. I'm having a quadruple-layer very-berry cake, a band of live musicians, and, last but not least, the beautiful bowls of berries. Each party guest will receive a hand-painted berry bowl that I had made especially for the banquet. The guests will take their berry bowls to the berry buffet, where they can fill their bowls with the best berries in the kingdom. |
| Queen Miranda | Sounds wonderful, Amber. |
| Prince James | I think I'll get in some fencing practice. |
| King Roland II | Yes, let's leave Amber to her planning, shall we? |
| Queen Miranda | She certainly doesn't need our help. |
| Princess Sofia | Speaking of berries, what should I do with these? |
| Princess Amber | Oh! Bring them to the kitchen. Chef Andre can use them for the muffins. Thank you, Sofia. |
| Princess Sofia | Sure. |
| Princess Amber | Oh, my giant strawberry decoration is here. This is going to put Hildegard's giant honeydew to shame. |
| Servant | Where would you like us to put this, princess? |
| Princess Amber | Up there. As high up as you can get it. |
| Gwen | Look out! Runaway sponge! |
| Princess Sofia | Runaway sponge? |
| Gwen | Whoa! |
| Princess Sofia | I'll help you. |
| Gwen | Gotcha! Sorry about that, Princess Sofia. |
| Princess Sofia | I've never seen a sponge like that before. |
| Gwen | That's because I just invented it. |
| Princess Sofia | You're an inventor? |
| Gwen | Oh, no, no. I'm just a kitchen maid. Gwen. That's my name. I only invent things in my spare time. I call them my "gizmos." |
| Princess Sofia | Is it broken? |
| Gwen | Oh, no. It's just not finished yet. Inventing something new always takes a few tries before you get it right. At least, for me it does. Hmm. I think I just need to re-jigger the thingamabob to the doohickey. There! |
| Princess Sofia | Whoa, look at it go. |
| Gwen | Now I can scrub twice as many pots in half the time. |
| Chef Andre | Gwen! What is all the ruckus in here? Oh, pardon me, Princess Sofia. I did not realize you were here. |
| Princess Sofia | I have some blueberries for you, Chef Andre, for the muffins. |
| Chef Andre | Ah, yes! The blueberries of blue-ness. Oh, the muffins will be mmm... fantastic! Oh, I certainly hope this was not the result of one of your silly gizmos, Gwen. |
| Gwen | I'll clean it up. |
| Chef Andre | And please put that pencil away. You should be working in the kitchen, not drawing up more gizmos. |
| Gwen | Yes, Papa. |
| Chef Andre | Now you clean the berries while I get the ingredients for the muffins. |
| Gwen | Papa doesn't like it when I make gizmos. Guess I'll put this away with the others. |
| Princess Sofia | You have other gizmos? Can I see them? |
| Gwen | Do you really want to? |
| Princess Sofia | Uh-huh. |
| Gwen | Uh, okay. I made a special place to work on my gizmos. Right through here, Sofia. Just twist the top of this teapot and it opens the door. Here we are. Well, these are my gizmos. |
| Princess Sofia | Whoa. What does this one do? |
| Gwen | Oh, well, that's my built-in-baker cupcake maker. Kind of a silly name, I know. |
| Princess Sofia | I like it. How does it work? |
| Gwen | Well, I just put in some built-in baker cupcake maker mix... and... |
| Princess Sofia | Oh! Mm. What about that one? |
| Gwen | I call this the teeter-totter rug-swatter. |
| Princess Sofia | Oh. How... useful. |
| Gwen | Oh, sorry. Sometimes this one seems to have a mind of its own. |
| Princess Sofia | What about this one? |
| Gwen | Oh, that one's my favorite. The bicycle built for tunes. Do you want to give it a try, Princess Sofia? |
| Princess Sofia | Sure. Wow! These gizmos are great, Gwen. |
| Gwen | You really think so? I mean, it's my dream to be a real inventor someday, but Papa says I'd just embarrass myself. He says I'm a kitchen maid and that should be good enough for me. |
| Princess Sofia | But you're so great at inventing. Can't he see that? |
| Gwen | Well, he tried inventing something once, and it didn't go so well. It was an automatic pudding serving machine. My dad convinced King Roland to let him try it out at a very important dinner. But something went wrong with his invention. Very wrong. All the pudding dumped right on the king's head. Papa was so embarrassed. So that's why he doesn't like me making gizmos. He's afraid I'll just embarrass myself, like he did. |
| Princess Amber | No, no, no. The giant strawberry isn't high enough. Hildegard's honeydew was much higher than that. |
| Baileywick | Princess Amber, this decoration is quite heavy. And it looks very nice where it is. |
| Princess Amber | But it has to be perfect. |
| Baileywick | If you insist. Higher, gentlemen. |
| Princess Amber | Just a bit higher. Higher. |
| Gwen | What was that? |
| Princess Sofia | I don't know. |
| Princess Amber | My giant strawberry. It's cracked. Oh. Move it, please! Move it. My berry bowls. |
| Princess Sofia | I'm sure we can find some other bowls to use. |
| Princess Amber | Other bowls? Do our other bowls have a one-of-a-kind berry design on them? Without my berry bowls, my banquet won't be perfect. And if it can't be perfect, there's no point in having the banquet at all. |
| Baileywick | Princess Amber, a party doesn't have to be perfect to be fun. |
| Princess Amber | My parties do. |
| Princess Sofia | Gwen, do you think that you could make a gizmo that paints bowls really fast? |
| Gwen | Hmm. I suppose if I used a spinning doodad attached to a widget with three whatchamacallits, I could make a gizmo that paints new bowls in time for the banquet. |
| Princess Amber | A gizmo? Uh, Sofia, what is she talking about? |
| Princess Sofia | Gwen is an inventor. |
| Princess Amber | I thought you were a kitchen maid. |
| Gwen | Oh, I am. |
| Princess Sofia | But she can build a machine that will make new berry bowls. |
| Princess Amber | Really? Can you? |
| Gwen | Oh, I don't know, Princess Amber. |
| Princess Sofia | Gwen, this is your chance to be a real inventor. |
| Gwen | What if my invention doesn't work, like Papa's pudding server? |
| Princess Amber | You have to try. Please. |
| Princess Sofia | You can do this, Gwen. |
| Gwen | All right. I'll give it a go. |
| Princess Amber | And please hurry. There's not much time. |
| Princess Sofia | I can give you a hand if you like. |
| Gwen | I think I'm going to need it. There, this is what the machine will look like. And here's a list of all the parts we'll need to build it. I hope we can get it all together in time. |
| Princess Sofia | Don't worry. I have some friends who can help. Okay, everyone, I need a paintbrush, some shoelaces, and lots of nuts and bolts. Wow, that was fast. |
| Clover | That's what we do. |
| Princess Sofia | Thanks, guys. |
| Gwen | Wrench. |
| Princess Sofia | Wrench. |
| Gwen | Paintbrush. |
| Princess Sofia | Paintbrush. |
| Gwen | Oil. |
| Princess Sofia | Oil. |
| Gwen | There. It's done. |
| Princess Sofia | Should we try it out? |
| Gwen | Go ahead. |
| Princess Sofia | It's perfect. Gwen, you did it! |
| Clover | All right, team! Whoa! |
| Gwen | Friend of yours? |
| Princess Sofia | Uh, uh-huh. You all right? |
| Clover | Are you kidding? Check out the new paint job. |
| Princess Sofia | I think he's okay. Come on, let's bring your gizmo to Amber. |
| Gwen | And paint the rest of those bowls. |
| Princess Amber | Ugh. What is a blackberry doing in the raspberries? Oh, Baileywick. Don't they know everything has to be perfect? |
| Baileywick | You may find that when you try to make things perfect, all you do is make everyone around you perfectly miserable. |
| Princess Amber | Hmm. |
| Princess Sofia | Amber, Gwen finished her invention. |
| Princess Amber | Finally! Let's see what this gizmo can do. |
| Princess Sofia | Gwen? |
| Princess Amber | Is it supposed to do that? |
| Gwen | Oh, no! Something's wrong. |
| Baileywick | Take cover! |
| Gwen | Oh. I don't understand. It was working before. |
| Princess Sofia | Gwen, get down! |
| Princess Amber | That machine is ruining everything. Someone turn it off. |
| Baileywick | Right away. It's safe. You can all come out now. |
| Princess Amber | You were supposed to save my party, not wreck it! |
| Gwen | I... I don't know what went wrong. I'm so sorry, Princess Amber. |
| Chef Andre | I have brought the muffins. Gwen, please tell me that is not one of your gizmos. |
| Gwen | It is, Papa. |
| Chef Andre | Oh, Gwen. Okay, back to the kitchen with you. |
| Gwen | Sorry, Princess Sofia. |
| Chef Andre | My deepest apologies, Princess Amber. |
| Princess Amber | Oh, Sofia. Now I'm going to have to cancel the banquet. |
| Princess Sofia | I'm sorry, Amber. I better help clean up. |
| Princess Amber | Yes. And I better go lie down. |
| Chef Andre | I am sorry, Gwen, but now you know why I did not want you to invent gizmos. I did not want to see you fail as I did. |
| Gwen | I know, Papa. |
| Chef Andre | You see, it is okay to have big dreams when you are sleeping, but once you wake up, you must let them go. We belong in the kitchen, you and I. And that is where we will always be. |
| Robin | I feel so bad for Gwen. |
| Clover | Yeah. That was one messed-up machine. And here's another one! |
| Robin | Ah, look out. |
| Clover | Whoa! |
| Robin | We better turn that thing off before it causes more trouble for Gwen. |
| Clover | Whoa! Sorry, Whatnaught. All right, no more Mr. Nice Rabbit. Whoa! Stop the ride. I want to get off. |
| Robin | You are off. |
| Clover | Oh, good. |
| Princess Sofia | Oh, hi, Whatnaught. What's that? You found a screw? And you want me to throw it in the trash for you. No. That's not it. You fell down and the screw was right there. You thought it was an acorn, so you tried to eat it? No. That's not it, either. Oh, that screw fell off of Gwen's machine. It popped right out of the doohickey. So that's why it went haywire. I've got to go tell Gwen. Thanks, Whatnaught. Gwen, look! This screw fell out of your bowl-painting gizmo. You can fix everything now. |
| Gwen | No, I can't. Papa was right. I'm no inventor. |
| Princess Sofia | But it's your dream. |
| Gwen | Dreaming is nice, but it's time I wake up. |
| Princess Sofia | Gwen, if you give up on your dreams, they'll never come true.

| Princess Amber | Are you sure about this, Sofia? You saw what that thing did last time. |
| Princess Sofia | Amber, just give Gwen one more chance. |
| Baileywick | It can't get any worse. |
| Princess Amber | True. Well, all right, let's get her some more bowls. |
| Gwen | And there. |

| Gwen | It's my dream, Papa. I have to try. |
| Princess Amber | Oh, it's beautiful. |
| Princess Sofia | Gwen, you did it. |
| Gwen | It works. |
| Chef Andre | Gwen, you are an inventor. A real inventor. |
| Princess Sofia | Isn't this great, Amber? Now you can have your Berry Banquet. |
| Princess Amber | Not yet, I can't. Look around. This room is still a mess, the cake is ruined, and the instruments are covered in paint. And there's no time to fix everything. |
| Princess Sofia | Unless... |
| Princess Amber | Unless what, Sofia? |
| Princess Sofia | Unless we use Gwen's other gizmos. This should clean up the mess. This should make up for the cake. |

| Princess Amber | If it wasn't for her, there wouldn't be a Berry Banquet. Gwen saved the day. |
| King Roland II | Well, I'll be. |
| Princess Sofia | You know, Dad, it's too bad Gwen has to work in the kitchen all day when she's so good at inventing. |
| King Roland II | Hmm. Well, maybe there's something I can do about that. May I have everyone's attention, please? In recognition of her outstanding inventions, I hereby appoint Gwen to be Enchancia's royal inventor! |
| Princess Amber | Brava, Gwen, Brava! |
| Gwen | So, I'll get to invent things all day long? |

| Gwen | Oh! Oh, Papa! |
| Chef Andre | I am so proud of you, Gwen. |
| King Roland II | Chef Andre. I seem to recall that you used to invent things, too. |
| Gwen | That reminds me. There is one more gizmo I prepared for the banquet. It was a great invention, Papa. There was just a screw missing. Berry pudding for everyone, courtesy of my papa, the amazing chef and inventor. |
| King Roland II | Well done. All right then. Let's strike up the band! |
| Baileywick | That's easy for you to say, Your Majesty. |
| Gwen | Oh, I have something for you, Princess Sofia. I have a feeling you'll make a great inventor. |

| Princess Amber | And me. Don't forget me. Hmm... |
