| King Roland II | These pancakes are delicious. |
| Princess Sofia | Could you pass the fruit please? |
| King Roland II | Violet, please refill everyone's water. |
| Queen Miranda | Where's James? |
| Princess Sofia | He said he has a surprise he wants to show everyone. |
| Princess Amber | What's the surprise? That he's late? Because, oh, that's no surprise. |
| Prince James | Look, everyone. I had the servants put wheels on my shoes, so I can get around the castle faster. |
| Queen Miranda | Oh, that's very clever, James. |
| Servant | Whoa. |
| Prince James | I call 'em Rolling Wheelie Shoes. What do you think of that? |
| Princess Sofia | Great idea, James. |
| Princess Amber | If you watch where you're going. |
| Prince James | When I'm king, I'll make sure everyone has a pair of Rolling Wheelie Shoes. |
| Princess Amber | Luckily, that won't be any time soon. |
| King Roland II | You know, James, being king is more than just having fun. It's about being responsible. |
| Queen Miranda | And generous, brave, polite. |
| Prince James | I'm totally all of those things. I can't wait. |
| King Roland II | Hmm. Maybe you won't have to wait. |
| Prince James | What do you mean, Dad? |
| King Roland II | How would you like to be king for a day? |
| Prince James | Brilliant. |
| Princess Amber | What? |
| Princess Sofia | But how would that work, Dad? You're the king. |
| King Roland II | Well, your mother and I are going to the Ever Golden Glades today to do some phoenix-watching. |
| Queen Miranda | And sketching. I cannot wait to draw the fire-tipped phoenix. |
| King Roland II | So, while we're gone, you can rule the kingdom, James, for one day. |
| Prince James | Boom goes the cannon. |
| Princess Amber | But, Daddy, James doesn't know how to be king. Besides, I should get to be queen for a day first. I am older. |
| Prince James | By seven minutes. |
| King Roland II | All of you will get a turn. |
| Princess Sofia | Really? Isn't that great, Amber? |
| Princess Amber | I should still be first. |
| King Roland II | Baileywick, let everyone in the castle know that James will be in charge. Oh, and, uh, summon Cedric. |
| Baileywick | Right away, Your Majesty. |
| King Roland II | Remember, James. Being king is a big responsibility. |
| Prince James | I know, I know. This is gonna be so much fun. |
| Cedric the Sorcerer | You summoned me, Your Majesty? |
| King Roland II | Ah, Cedric. James is going to be king for the day. |
| Cedric the Sorcerer | You're putting a boy in charge of the entire kingdom? |
| King Roland II | Yes. And I want you to help him out. |
| Cedric the Sorcerer | I have to take orders from Prince James? |
| King Roland II | Correct. Today, whatever James says goes. |
| Cedric the Sorcerer | Oh. |
| King Roland II | Ah, there it is. I hereby crown you King James. For the day. |
| Prince James | Brilliant. |
| King Roland II | I hope you rule wisely, son. |
| Prince James | I will, Dad. |
| King Roland II | Shall we, Miranda? |
| Prince James | Did you hear that, Amber? Whatever I say goes. |
| Princess Amber | Hmm. Oh, Daddy. Can I go with you? |
| Queen Miranda | Sure. Why not? |
| King Roland II | Why, certainly, Amber. |
| Princess Amber | Oh. |
| Prince James | Why are you leaving? You're gonna miss a fun day. |
| Princess Amber | Oh, I'll be back sooner than you think, King James. Because I know you're going to make a huge mess of the kingdom and I'm going to make sure Daddy gets back in time to see it. Then he'll wish he made me queen for a day... first. |
| Princess Sofia | Have fun at the glades. |
| Princess Amber | Toodle-doo. |
| Queen Miranda | We will. |
| King Roland II | We will. |
| Prince James | Okay, Baileywick. Let's do us some kinging. |
| Baileywick | Right this way, Your Majesty. |
| Cedric the Sorcerer | This is beyond insulting. Me, the greatest sorcerer in the kingdom, reduced to nothing more than a royal baby-sitter. |
| Prince James | Cedric? Where's my Royal Sorcerer? |
| Cedric the Sorcerer | Coming, Your Majesty. |
| Baileywick | We have quite a lot on today's to-do scroll. |
| Prince James | All right, Baileywick, what you got? |
| Baileywick | These proclamations need approval. |
| Prince James | Uh, no problem. I approve them. |
| Baileywick | Oh, no, no, no. You need to read them first, and then stamp them with the royal seal. |
| Prince James | I have to read all of them? That sounds like homework. |
| Baileywick | It's king work. |
| Prince James | That could take all day. |
| Princess Sofia | Oh, it doesn't look that bad. |
| Baileywick | And you have to choose a new coat of arms for the royal scribes. Half of them want a dragon holding a pen and half of them want a dragon holding a scroll. |
| Prince James | Oh, let's come back to that one. |
| Baileywick | And the castle servants have too much to do and not enough time to do it all. |
| Prince James | I know how they feel. Is that it, Baileywick? |
| Baileywick | Not quite. There's an old abandoned house in the village that might fall down any minute. |
| Prince James | What am I supposed to do about that? |
| Baileywick | Well, that's for you to decide, James. You're the king. |
| Servant | Excuse me, Your Majesty. We have visitors. |
| Jade | Hi, Sofia. |
| Ruby Hanshaw | Hi, Sofia. |
| Princess Sofia | Guess what. James is king for a day. |
| Jade | Whoa. You're king now? |
| Prince James | Yep. |
| Jade | Good. Because we have a giant problem. |
| Ruby Hanshaw | We found this by a cave outside the village. There must be a giant inside the cave. |
| Jade | A huge one. |
| Princess Sofia | Is he causing trouble? |
| Jade | No. He's asleep. |
| Ruby Hanshaw | But that's the problem. He's snoring really loud. |
| Jade | Like this. Mi-mi-mi-mi-mi. Mi-mi-mi-mi-mi. |
| Ruby Hanshaw | Then he stops. |
| Jade | Mi-mi-mi-mi-mi. |
| Ruby Hanshaw | Then he starts up again. And it keeps everyone in the village up all night. |
| Jade | Including us. |
| Baileywick | Okay, then. I'll add it to the list. Snoring giant. |
| Prince James | This is ridiculous. No one told me being king would be so hard. There are so many problems. I don't know how to fix any of them. |
| Princess Sofia | Come on, James. You always come up with great ideas. Like your Rolling Wheelie Shoes. |
| Prince James | Those ideas are for having fun, Sofia, not solving royal problems. |
| Princess Sofia | Who says your ideas can't do both? Solving problems can be fun. You just have to do things your way. The James way.
